WhaleScale Information

The equations in WhaleScale produce only estimates, based on limited numbers of animals in variable body condition from limited geographical areas. Actual weight may vary dramatically based on body condition. Response of a stranded cetacean to close proximity, touching, handling, or medications can vary widely by species, physical status, and individual. Working around stranded marine mammals, alive or dead, carries with it inherent risks, and should be undertaken only by people with proper training. This site is for WhaleScale users to report technical issues with the app and to provide feedback.
